Why Baby Sleep Isn’t a Straight Line (and Why That’s Okay)

If there’s one thing I wish every mom knew, it’s this:
Baby sleep is not supposed to be perfect.
I know, the internet makes it look like everyone else’s baby is sleeping through the night, taking perfect naps, and following some magical schedule that you somehow missed. Meanwhile, you’re over here reheating your coffee and wondering if you’ll ever sleep again..
Let me tell you something gently:
You’re not doing anything wrong.
Your baby isn’t behind.
You’re not “failing” at sleep.
Baby sleep is development.
It’s connection.
It’s growth.
It’s messy and beautiful and unpredictable.
Some nights will feel easy.
Some nights will feel impossible.
Both are normal.
When I support families, I don’t come in with a strict plan or a list of rules. I come in with curiosity, compassion, and my REN Method — Rest, Ease, Nurture.
Because sleep doesn’t need pressure.
It needs understanding.
t needs softness.
It needs a parent who feels supported, not judged.
So if today feels hard, breathe.
You’re doing enough.
You are enough.
And your baby is learning, slowly, beautifully, in their own rhythm.
